Stewing Hen

These Forage Farms Stewing Hens have lived their life at the farm, being run through our paddocks. A stewing hen is a chicken that has completed its laying cycle and is roughly two years of age. These hens will have a much different texture than your regular broiler based on their age. Because of this, they are best used to make a nutritious stock or broth with their strong, flavourful bones. 

Or they can be prepared in a stew, or cooked for an extended period, to make delicious soups and pies. The flavour will be on par with the quality you have come to expect from Forage Farms chickens.

The birds are approximately 1.3kg. 

Orders in before close of business Monday will be delivered that week. Orders after the close of business Monday will be delivered the following week.

For orders less than $100 shipping will be $20, orders between $100 and $300 will be $10 and orders over $300 will be free.
